Montelago Village Resort's Official Website

"MonteLago Village Resort is a one of a kind luxury Las Vegas resort and real estate opportunity, located just 17 miles from the Las Vegas Strip. Set among the desert mountains of Nevada on the shores of sparkling Lake Las Vegas, the Mediterranean-themed village offers exquisite shopping and dining, golfing, European-style gaming, and access to the championship golf and lakeside recreation of Lake Las Vegas Resort."  [Excerpt is from the Montelago Village Resort's Website]

MonteLago Village Resort is part of a European (Faux-Italian) style village on Lake Las Vegas  (with water-craft,) condos, shops, restaurants and the MonteLago Casino.
MonteLago Village Resort seems to be an Island of Tranquility - twenty minutes from the Las Vegas Strip.  Mediterranean style condos (Buy or Rent) are available.
Great Escape!  This seems to be the place to relax or play, in the Casino or...
Lake Las Vegas with The Village in the background.

"Experience a Henderson, Nevada resort village that echoes Mediterranean towns where the pace is slow and leisurely. MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas Resort keeps relaxation and refinement close at heart for an unforgettable resort vacation."

"Wander down a cobblestone street... a bench tucked beside a fountain invites you to simply sit and watch the waves dance on the lake, reflecting the beauty of this luxurious Las Vegas golf resort. Across the way, hand-blown glass vases in an exciting new gallery play with the desert light. Browse for the latest fashions, or curl up with a cappuccino and compare your latest round of golf. Indulge your soul in a rejuvenating treatment designed to capture the heart of this lavish Las Vegas spa resort. Around every corner you'll find new options for dinner in the best international traditions."

"Escape to this Extraordinary Las Vegas, Nevada Resort"

"All of this old world charm is just 17 miles from the Strip, making it a Las Vegas golf resort and spa experience that is truly one of a kind."

FINE ART FESTIVAL - Third Annual Fall Show - September 24 - 25 - FREE

(9-24-05 - I attended the September 24th's show.  Here are my picks for BEST OF SHOW:)

GARY POON'S Watercolors on Silk are stunningly simple (minimal) watercolor images on white silk:
"Dream images" of human figures - fading - as they walk away in the rain, (Striking-black) Crows, other birds,
landscapes and more executed in a Calligraphic / Sumi-e / Kabuki-like (my terminology) painting style.
Originals as well as prints were available for sale.
NADIA KLEIN'S Monochromic oils immediately evoked thoughts of Cirque Du Soleil figures - in a kind-of
abstract toy doll way.  The artist is also a stunningly good looking doll. (?)
KIM SEYESNEM OBRZUT Bronzes are Native American-Modern sculptures with a ceramic-like finish.
Traditional Native themes with contemporary, sweeping ( impressionistic) curves and angles marry
to create a totally original, Native art form.  These Master Bronzes are as rich as finally crafted jewelry.
One TOM HILL (21st. Century SouthWest Art & Design.) was showing a copper/brass wall hanging which was fashioned
into the likes of a traditional Navajo blanket.  This (maybe) 6' x 4' dimensional sculpture "stunned" me when I
first saw it.  Layered (6" thick) copper and brass with various patinas, this piece was an almost perfectly
balanced piece of sculpture, which is rare indeed.
