The Official Mandalay Bay Website

"MANDALAY" the poem by Rudyard Kipling...

The Mandalay Bay Hotel on the South Strip (West side of Las Vegas Blvd.) is one of many pin-wheel style hotels (three wings radiating from a central point,) in Las Vegas.  The Mandalay Bay, The Mirage and The Monte Carlo are three of these 3 wing wonders.  They are all on The South Strip.  Not too many years ago, an active "Hobo Jungle" existed - about where The Mandalay Bay is located.

Mandalay Bay is a (California-hip) hotel with several pools, Spa, ultra-modern bars, clubs and restaurants.

Chefs and (LA) radio talk-show hosts' Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger's BORDER GRILL and Wolfgang Puck's TRATTORIA DEL LUPO are in the house...Speaking of house, THE HOUSE OF BLUES is doing business here. Click here for food information.

There is also a vast convention complex, down a very long hallway.

EAT                                                                                                       buffet
THE BAYSIDE BUFFET, at Mandalay Bay, is one of the most unusual buffet rooms in Las Vegas:  The main dining area is partitioned into a number of rooms, styled in South-East Asian decor.  The recessed wooden ceiling-inserts and large open windows around the perimeter are suggestive of a "Great Country House" in Mandalay, with a veranda.  Think cocktails on the veranda, a blonde bombshell and the rugged plantation owner preparing for an uprising...
The buffet serving-tables are arranged in, sort of, a "maze" which places the food gatherer smack-dab in the middle of the food.
(Call 1-877-632-7800 for specific food information.)

           Border Grill

THE BORDER GRILL, operated by L.A. restaurateurs and radio show hosts: Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger is modern Cal-Mex.  The restaurant looks like it was designed by Juan Miro and Pablo Picasso after a night of drinking shots of Absinthe.  I really like this restaurant...

THE HOUSE OF BLUES offers "waiting chairs," in front of the restaurant, that are bejeweled with bottle caps, automobile license plates, car keys, house keys and other junk.  Burgers, sandwiches, fries (and all the other usual stuff) are on the food menu...The Showroom has unusual stuff: fresh music acts...Often, they are fresh acts from The House Of Blues in Los Angeles.  Put on your Wayfarers and sing the blues.

RED SQUARE offers: Lobster, Filet Mignon, Lamb, Blackened Tuna, Duck and 100 varieties of Vodka.  A huge, headless statue of Lenin stands guard out front.  Someone got a lot of----.

TRATTORIA DEL LUPO is a Wolfgang Puck restaurant.  Pastas, chicken, fish and beef are featured.
Take me to Mandalay Bay's Website for more restaurants and menus.
