A Favorite of the Las Vegas Buffet
Club, the Main Street Station Hotel and Casino is a downtown "gem" of a
hotel.
This Main Street Hotel is suggestive of New Orleans. |
|
The hotel is resplendent with stained-glass, wrought-iron lattice-work, objects d' art, ceiling fans and a warm
atmosphere. One can tell from the lobby that
this hotel is a bit more sedate and quieter than
the average Las Vegas hotel (excluding the gaming areas of course.)

Good restaurants and a brewery bar,
The Triple 7
take care of food and beverage business.
The Triple 7
is a (dark wood and brass,
including huge, brass/copper brewing vats on display)
restaurant and bar with extensive beer selections, including their
own crafted beers. The food menu includes a good variety of starters
and entrees - Happy Hour specials. There are
enough TV's to please the most zealous sports
fan. |
|
The PULLMAN Bar &
Grille - Fine Dining... |
|
The
GARDEN COURT BUFFET
is a LVBC favorite |
|
|
|
In front of the hotel, Theodore Roosevelt's Pullman
railroad car rests on a track with other cars, and inside
the hotel a chandelier from Paris' renowned Figaro
Opera House
illuminates the gaming area. |
|
"There's even a piece of the
Berlin Wall.
This odd attraction can be found in the men's room off the
main casino floor. The Travel Channel voted it Las Vegas' #2 historic
bathroom." - Excerpt is
from the MSS's website. |

THE GARDEN COURT BUFFET
- Best All Things
Considered Buffet
The Buffet Room at the MAIN STREET STATION is right
in sync with the NEW ORLEANS' decor of the
hotel. "Real" wood
ceilings, antique sideboards, objects d'art, and a tiled floor/foyer/waiting-area, framed with tile and
old-brick. Several dozen ceiling fans keep the air fresh under the high wood ceiling. This room has
"windows." Being at the epicenter of downtown Las Vegas also
adds a sense of adventure that you will not find at a Strip hotel.
All things considered: price, ambience, food, presentation,
windows
etc. - We think that this is certainly one of the best buffets in Las Vegas.
|
| |
|
"The food is above average with several different stations: American, Asian, Island,
Mexican, Italian, Fruit and Salad and Dessert. The LAS VEGAS BUFFET CLUB recommends the breakfast and lunch buffets (the
windows add another dimension to
the dinning experience.) This is not to say to ignore the dinner
buffet, however the room is a bit colder after
dark - still, not as cold as most rooms. Try the Friday Seafood night. |
| "The all-you-can eat Garden
Court Buffet is the ultimate in Las Vegas buffets. From the moment you
step inside, you'll enjoy the spacious surrounding with the vaulted
ceilings and Victorian gingerbread decor. And the food is fabulous, too!" [Excerpt & photo are from The MSS's website] |

This very cool photo is of The California Hotel's rooftop pool which is
accessible to Main Street's hotel guests as well as guests of The RV Park.
("If we're guests, how come they charge us?") Really it's an oasis in
the middle of downtown Las Vegas. |

The
RV
Park is across the street. Just a remnant of what was, the RV
Park is minimal: Full hook-ups and Laundry-room
- no cable or phone. The California Hotel's rooftop swimming-pool is
available to RV Park guests. Guests walk across a secure, fenced parking lot to access the hotel. |
