"Hot Diggity! The Gold Spike has new owners, and they plan to do something the old owners didn't: spend money. They better, because they spent more dough buying it than they'll ever find in lost change between the slot machines and stuck to the old carpet." Read more...

The following information precedes the declaration of the new ownership:
Take me to the Gold Spike's Website (Pre new-ownership.)
This "deep downtown" hotel casino is a bit rough around the edges, however it does provide an experience that you won't find at the Mirage or the Bellagio. An earthy Old Vegas bar, Keno, tables and machines hum into the wee hours.
The rooms tell the story of better times - they must have been quite nice back in the day (Bamboo and grass cloth.)
A bit seedy now, we would not recommend this hotel for a family - however a few guys in town for a gambling junket would find the rates very friendly.
Management does provide decent security, but a "heads-up" attitude would be suggested.
The restaurant is worth visiting, at least once. Roast beef 'dinner plates' can be had for a few bucks. This is a remnant of Old Vegas - which is disappearing rapidly.
Visit the GOLD SPIKE HOTEL Web site at: www.goldspikehotelcasino.com or try: www.a2zlasvegas.com which is a Web site that also provides A2Z hotel information.
