would be describing Excalibur. Basically it's a bleached white
castle with red, blue and gold
spires. This hotel is indeed a fairyland. Looking every bit like
something at Disneyland, it is indeed a fantasy land." |

| Excalibur is pretty impressive from
without. At night you could say it's spectacular. Inside it's
a bit of a different story, it's a hotel that's more fantasy than
substance - more suited to young children. My feelings were always
that this hotel was just built to minimum standards. All hotels in
Las Vegas, when you get down to the bare bones - so to speak - are just
made out of steel, metal, bricks and mortar, wood, brass and aluminum etc.
They're not built of imported marble and stone, at least the ones I've
seen. And Excalibur is no exception, this hotel doesn't take great
measures to hide it's plasticity. It's very revealing to go behind
walls at Caesar's Palace, for instance, and see aluminum wall studs and
plasterboard. On the casino side the walls look like marble, but it
just ain't so. |

| If you're a kid, you'll love it.
Knights of the Roundtable, jousting, suits of amour. What's not to
like. Even if you're not a kid (based on age,) but you're a kid at
heart, you'll love it. |
| If superfluous fantasy trumps a
facade of traditional quality for you this might be the hotel for you. |
