One of the best Mexican restaurants in
Denver, Colorado, EL NOA NOA, on Santa Fe Drive, is an authentic Mexican restaurant in an
Hispanic neighborhood that has been around forever. A commercial area
of the 'hood, surrounding EL NOA NOA, has recently been adopted by a
multi-culture art crowd. It is fast becoming a major "ARTS DISTRICT." The restaurant underwent a makeover in
the past year or so... |

El Noa Noa is
even better than before, and before was pretty good. The food has
always been "right on" and now the dining room is "gallery-wall" perfect with it's new "Orange"
paint job and new accoutrements. |

The food is excellent : Try the Chile Rellano
Plate or the Fajitas. Everything is tasty and authentic...In the
Summer months, when the patio is in blossom, when the fountain and the
Margaritas are flowing and the birds are singing you will feel that you are in a restaurant deep in Mexico...On
certain weekend nights (call) either a Mariachi group or maybe a Flute band
from Peru will be performing. This is a fun and lively place. El Noa Noa has one of the best patios around. |

El Noa Noa offers full bar service with
your favorite tequilas, beers etc....

"Noa Noa is a book written
by Paul Gauguin and Charles Morice on the experience of Gauguin in Tahiti
during his first stay between 1891 and 1893. The painter must prepare
woodcuts to illustrate the book collection called Noa Noa Suite. Before its
publication was again left for Tahiti and took his manuscript continued to
expand with drawings, engravings and photographs." - from WIKI |
|
"Gauguin himself told a
reporter from the Echo de Paris that the title of the work means "fragrant".
In Tahitian no'ano'a is normalized, "perfume or fragrance." As Gauguin is
used as an adjective, the full expression would no'ano'a fenua Tea, "the
fragrant island." - from WIKI |

On a visit - July 29, 2006 - I
ordered a
Presidente Brandy just to keep it real... |
| On another visit
- May, 2009 - they served the best Fajitas we've had here: lots of good
quality, charcoal-grilled beef, grilled onions and green peppers, served
with shredded lettuce, fresh salsa, guacamole, cheese and, of course,
tortillas (3) for around $14.00. |
