| About the book, Cannery Row |
| "(John) Steinbeck was born about 30 miles from Cannery
Row in Salinas, California, on February 27, 1902. He graduated from
Salinas High School in 1919 and attended Stanford University, about 90
miles north of the Monterey Peninsula. He married his first wife, Carol
Henning, in 1930. They lived in Pacific Grove next to Cannery Row, where
much of the material for his books was gathered."

They offer a variety of diverse dining options including Victory's Cafe,
Cannery Row Buffet, Waverly's Steakhouse, Casa Cocina Mexican Restaurant
and Vino's Italian Ristornate & Deli.
Summer is an especially fun time at The Cannery offering indoor/outdoor
entertainment with an exhibit venue that will accommodate up to 3,000
people featuring 25-foot by 60-foot doors that open to create an outdoor
amphitheater that overlooks the pool. Seasonal events include concerts,
outdoor festivals, boxing, motor sports, parties and exhibits. The hotel
also offers entertainment with Galaxy Theatres first-run movies." |
