The Bay City Diner is now DU-PAR'S RESTAURANT AND
BAKERY - OPEN 24 HOURS. |
| "In 1955, Golden Gate
founding partner and restaurateur, Tiny Naylor, brought his special brand
of home cooking to Las Vegas' most historic hotel and casino. Today,
Tiny's son, Biff, serves classic recipes with the same fresh, homemade
quality. Feast on Du-par's famous pancakes (named 'Best in America' by
Esquire magazine), prime New York steaks, gourmet meatloaf and a variety
of homemade meals and pies served 24 hours a day." |

|
| The Bay City Diner, in the Golden Gate Hotel, is an Art Deco "Big City"
downtown restaurant. You'll feel as though you were in San Francisco
in this turn of the century gem. |
|
| The food is moderately priced and the menu provides the choices that you
want: All American Breakfasts, Dinner/Lunch entrées, sandwiches, salads,
soups and desserts. |
|
| This is a great place to "nurse" a cup of coffee and watch the action. |
|
| This restaurant's interior has been used in a
number of movies... |
| This hotel's (BAY CITY DINER) has been used for a number of Motion Pictures by
Hollyweird. Movie history: It appeared,
along with many other classic Fremont Street casinos, in the film
Honey, I Blew Up the Kid. |
|
| "Have any of you seen the
movie "Pay It Forward"? I did, but after I moved back to Boston in 2002.
It was filmed in Las Vegas, and I remember flipping out when there was a
scene with Helen Hunt as a change lady. At the Golden Gate. Well, Kevin
Spacey's character brings her flowers and they have the awkward "I like
you but can't really tell you" conversation, and then? They speak of the
diner."
